Before becoming the Assistant Vice President for Gift Planning & Counsel for the Montana State University Foundation, Melanie was in private law practice focusing on estate planning and small business formation and spent four years working in federal criminal defense. Melanie oversees the planned giving component of the MSU Foundation, hosts and presents informational sessions for the public and professional advisors, and works closely with individuals to develop tax-wise gift strategies. An MSU alumna ('95 SpCm), her enthusiasm for all things MSU and her legal experience offer a unique perspective and resource to MSU alumni and friends interested in supporting MSU.

Megan S. Berg comes to the Montana State University Foundation from private legal practice. She has spent her legal career practicing in the areas of estate planning, tax planning and preparation, as well as probate, estate and trust administration. As the Assistant Director for Gift Planning, Megan uses her extensive knowledge and experience to help loyal MSU supporters maximize their commitment to MSU while meeting their personal and charitable goals.
