WHERE THERE'S NO WILL, THERE'S A WON'T
In life, we have opinions and choices. We have favorite foods, political leanings, and personal beliefs. We express what we want so that others know what we need and where we stand. In death, it should be no different.
Your will sets forth your wishes, your hopes - your "will" - for what happens to your estate and how it benefits your family, your friends, and the charities you care about. In short, your will ensures that your personal wishes are met, that your "will" is done.
But when a person dies without a will, it can be said that this creates a "won't." Without a will, an individual forfeits his "will power" and his personal wishes are supplanted by state law, often with unforeseen and undesirable results.
So don't leave a "won't". Exercise your "will power" and create a will to ensure you leave the legacy you intend - for your loved ones and your favorite charities.
